Look who is a Kindergartner now!!!!!

Today Ashlyn had her first day of Kindergarten. She picked out this new outfit from her Gma Jan(Amy's Mom) to wear on her big day.
Ashlyn turns 5 on Sept 8th and the Kindergarten cutoff was August 31st so challenged MV public schools age requirement by having Ashlyn take a placement test from the district psychologist to see if she was ready. She passed and was reccomended entrance.
I was doing so well with this whole "being a big girl" thing and not even ready to cry until I got a poem from her teacher after class.
This is what it said:
Your baby started school today
A first big milestone along the way
She's not a baby, oh no not she
As big as any in the class you see
Till now you've been her shining sun
Your influence has equaled to none
But now I'll share in her work and play
Thanks for lending me your child today
This little hand so small
Is starting school today
This little hand will learn,
With others to work and play
And I will try to train
This hand throughout the year
I wonder if this hand will belong
to a scientist, pilot, or engineer,
to a teacher, farmer, or financer
Affectionately,
Mrs Avery
